Letter from President Beth Anderson
Dear TAT Members,
What a fantastic conference we had in 2017. We had a record number of vendors as well as attendees arrive in Nashville from all over Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and even California during the last weekend of July to share the latest trends and updates in the travel industry.
We would also like to thank our new conference location host, the Four Points in Brentwood, for working with us in 2017. Travel Agents of Tennessee looks forward to hosting the July 2018 conference as well. The dates for the 2018 conference will be July 27-28, 2018, again at the Four Points. Go ahead and sign up for this conference as we do have to limit attendees. I don’t want you to miss this wonderful educational opportunity. Don’t forget that there is also a trade show that is on Saturday as well and is open to all travel consultants.
I know all our members are very busy this year as more travelers realize the value of travel consultants. Travel is the number six industry globally and being a member of Travel Agents of Tennessee and attending the annual conference can enhance your education and networking opportunities with vendors who support the travel consultant community. Being an informed consultant will also allow you to provide the best value for our clients. By attending our annual conference, you learn about new and exciting destinations for your clients as well as updates on your favorites.
We have a busy board of directors who volunteer their time to put this conference together for you. Our goal is to make each conference better than the year before. This year we have put the conference registrations forms on line for consultants and vendors to complete and submit electronically. There is also the opportunity for you make your hotel reservations as well. I want to give a big shout-out to Susan Schaefer of Ships ‘n Trips who is our webmaster who worked so diligently to put this in motion. We also have a Registrar this year. Joanie Davis can assist in with your registration questions. Mike Stetson is our vendor liaison and works closely to give us exciting educational seminars. Tina Messamore is our secretary and will keep you posted of events and important dates. Please make sure she has your correct email address so you do not miss any emails. Social media as we all know plays an important role in communication. Elisa Johnson posts on our Facebook page so make sure you watch for those posts.
I look forward to seeing each of you in July. If there is anything I can do to help anyone in TAT please feel free to contact me at any time. Your suggestions and comments are welcome.
Beth Anderson, President
